“We have several goals for this event,” said Cassie Schumacher, PFH coordinator. “The first to say thank you
to our veterans for their service, but saying thank you is not enough I believe we need to stand with them to
help heal the wounds of war, we want to reach out to the veteran that needs help.”
Learn about the different partners and their many activities to support veterans. Pedals For Heroes is starting a
bike co-op program. Patriot Runners is offering free registrations to several local running events and a running
shoe program. On Sunday, view the bike purchased for a blind and hearing-impaired veteran by the Patriot
Runners. The RWB has local training opportunities.

Meet Zack Gillespie, Marine Corps veteran and triathlete, “Upon getting out of the Marine Corps, I was lost
suffering from PTSD and depression with no direction. I was introduced to the multi-sport lifestyle of
triathlons. For me it was a life changer and helped to reduce the severity of my symptoms. I encourage all
veterans and those who support veterans to sign up and get involved with your local Team RWB Chapter. In
the Cleveland/ Akron area, we are teamed up with some great organizations such as Pedal for Heroes and
Patriot Runners that reach out to help veterans. Even if you're not interested in physical activity, we can get
you involved in your local community with volunteer and networking opportunities.”
On Sunday and Monday, LifeCenter plus will offer free entry to the fitness center to veterans and their
families.

Lifecenter plus is located on 5133 Darrow Road, Hudson, Ohio. www.lifecenterplus.com or 330-655-2377.

About Team Red, White, and Blue

Team RWB is transforming the way that America supports its veterans as they transition from service member
to civilian. We are creating communities of veterans, their families, and American citizens that enjoy authentic
interaction through physical and social activities.

About Patriot Runners

Founded in October 2012, the Patriot Runners are a normal and not so normal group of runners that are
dedicated using our talents as runners to raise money for combat-wounded veterans. The sole purpose of the
organization is to provide assistance to combat-wounded veterans. Our main objective is to help return
combat-wounded veterans to recreational sports that will help them deal with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders
and Traumatic Brain Injuries. The monies that we raise are used to help with items such as physical therapy
costs, prosthesis, training, and disorder awareness.
